Wound dehiscence after spinal instrumentation presents a challenging problem to the surgeon. 1-8 Soft-tissue complications after operation are most commonly seen in patients with poor nutritional status, in the presence of injury to the spinal cord, following multiple operations and in malignant spinal disease. 5,9-11
